What can I say about the benefits of having a basic black dress…a LOT actually. In The Little Black Dress Experiment, I experimented by wearing the same black dress to work for a week without anyone noticing. However, as you can see with yet another black dress post, I can’t stress enough how this item is a staple for every girl’s closet; a necessity if you will. From dressing up, to dressing down, sexy, or conservative, the black dress is one to always bet on. When in doubt about what to wear for an outing, always bet on black.

One may think that black dresses are boring and basic, but that very thought is what makes the black dress so great. With the right accessories, a black dress can become ANYTHING… and let’s not forget that black is slimming, it never goes out of style, and black looks good on everyone. When you look good, you feel good and when you feel good, you build confidence. In the pictures below, I am wearing a black dress by Natural Life. I chose the dressed up look with a basic pair of black Nine West sandals, statement earrings from Old Navy, and a Betsey Johnson ring. In my opinion, the dress is stunning by itself and I didn’t want to take away from that, so I went with minimum accessories. I could easily switch the look from sexy to casual just by changing shoes to a pair of cute wedges, flats, or flip flops. Adding a jean jacket is another way to transform the dress to a more casual look. I could literally go on and on with different ways to dress up or dress down the garment, but I think the idea is obvious. It’s a win-win with black!
