I started this blog to express my love for fashion and food. So far my focus has been on fashion but to be Fare I want to chat a bit about the other love in my life. I can’t remember when I actually fell in love with cooking, but when I fell, I fell HARD. I am not a trained chef nor have I taken any classes or written any cook books. I just simply love to cook and try new recipes!
What you will find on Fashion and Fare are recipes that I have tried and love. Sometimes I follow the recipe exactly and sometimes I will add a little twist to the recipe to make it my own. Pictured below is a recipe that I found on pinterest for Hawaiian Chicken. I also made a simple side salad, white rice cooked in coconut milk, fresh pineapple, and a strawberry swirl Piña Colada to go with my meal as I was feeling very Caribbean.

Hawaiian Chicken Recipe (Found on Pintrest and Living Well Spending Less Website)
- 1/2 Red or yellow onion (Chopped)
- 3 Garlic cloves (Chopped)
- 1/4 Cup of olive oil
- 1 1/2 Cup teriyaki sauce
- 3/4 Cup of soy sauce
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar (I used light brown sugar)
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 3.5 to 4 lbs. of chicken breast
- In a mixing bowl, mix all of the ingredients listed above together. Place chicken in a gallon Ziploc bag and pour mixture over the chicken. Seal the bag up and let the chicken marinate for at least an hour.
- After your chicken has marinated, grill the chicken until cooked completely.
I have let my chicken marinate over night and it was even more flavorful. The longer the chicken marinates, the better! I also like to use a fork and poke a few little holes in my chicken breast which allows the chicken to soak up more of the marinade sauce. This recipe yields a lot of marinade sauce so if you want, you can split up your chicken into two separate bags and pour half of the marinade over into one bag to freeze for a later date. Enjoy!
This looks soooooo good and exotic! Who has to travel to have great food… I deserve great food! Yummo!
